A Wake is a smart, intense mystery that keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat until the end. There are so many surprise twists and turns that I didn't see coming at all and in these days of predictable movies, this is refreshing. It is beautifully shot and the performances are extraordinary. Hanna, the hostess of the crazy weekend has a quiet enigmatic energy that tells you something is secret in the world of Hamlet, but you don't know what. The disruptive Danielle is a sexy wild card whose impulsive actions get her into endless trouble. And grieving son Chad gives an intense performance when he must avenge the death of his father. I highly recommend this film, I thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed out loud a few times.
