Alice

One of Tara's alters, Alice is a 1950s Betty Crocker housewife who bakes pies in pumps with nary a meticulously hair-sprayed curl out of place.

Buck

One of Tara's alters. Buck is a beer-swilling, trucker-hat wearing Vietnam vet who is prone to violence when (easily) provoked.

Charmaine

Charmaine is Tara’s insecure sister. She cannot accept Tara’s condition and is envious of the attention her sister has received from it. Played by Rosemarie Dewitt.

Kate

Kate is Tara and Max's sarcastic and rebellious teenaged daughter. Played by Brie Larson.

Marshall

Marshall is Tara and Max's tender-hearted, bookworm son. Played by Keir Gilchrist.

Max

Max is Tara's loving and supportive husband of almost 20 years, who works hard to keep up with Tara’s alters. Played by John Corbett.

T

One of Tara's alters. T is a provocative teenager who flits around in midriffs and Daisy Dukes.

Tara

Tara Gregson is a seemingly ordinary suburban housewife and mother who has dissociative identity disorder (formerly known as multiple personality disorder). Played by Toni Collette.
